Fiberglass Reinforcement Product Line Overview: CSM, Woven Roving, Stitched Fabric, Multiaxial Fabric & Direct Roving

Successful FRP manufacturing rarely depends on one single type of fiberglass reinforcement. Different composite structures require different fiber formats to balance surface finish, isotropic strength, directional tensile load, impact resistance and production efficiency. Many new composite factories make the mistake of only purchasing chopped strand mat, then struggle to meet structural strength requirements for load-bearing FRP components. As a professional E-glass fiber manufacturer and exporter based in Qingdao, WGSC Fiber provides a full one-stop portfolio of fiberglass reinforcements to serve FRP workshops, tank factories, pipe producers and composite distributors across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South Asia.

Chopped strand mat (CSM) is the most versatile non-woven reinforcement. Randomly oriented glass strands create equal strength in all directions, which makes it perfect for surface layers, anti-corrosion liners and non-structural covering layers. It offers excellent mold conformability and good surface finish, and works smoothly with hand lay-up, vacuum infusion and filament winding.

Woven roving is woven from continuous E-glass rovings. Its plain weave structure delivers high tensile strength along warp and weft directions. It is the primary structural reinforcement for thick FRP tank walls, pressure pipes, hull structural layers and heavy load composite profiles. Woven roving is commonly combined with chopped strand mat as a sandwich construction: CSM for surface smoothness and corrosion resistance, woven roving for mechanical strength. This CSM + woven roving laminate structure is an industry standard for chemical FRP storage tanks.

Stitched fabrics and combo mats (stitched mat combined with surface veil) are engineered to save labor time. Stitched reinforcements bond chopped mat layers with continuous roving layers through polyester stitching thread, without chemical binder. They wet out faster and reduce lay-up steps, which is a huge advantage for high-volume production. Combo mats integrated with surface veil help producers achieve pinhole-free, rich resin surfaces directly, eliminating the separate veil laying process.

Multiaxial non-crimp fabrics (NCF) arrange fiber layers at 0°, ±45°, 90° orientations without weaving. Fibers stay straight and undistorted, so the laminate achieves much higher mechanical performance compared with woven fabrics. Multiaxial fabrics are widely used for wind turbine accessories, high-performance structural profiles, marine structural parts and railway composite components.

Direct roving is continuous E-glass roving designed for filament winding, pultrusion and spray-up processes. Good strand opening and dispersion ensure uniform fiber distribution inside resin. Direct roving is the raw material base for making woven roving and stitched fabrics as well.

All fiberglass materials from WGSC Fiber are compatible with unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin and epoxy resin. Our quality control system monitors areal weight, strand integrity, moisture content and resin compatibility for every production lot. We can adjust roll width, packaging mark, pallet loading plan according to your shipping requirement. Located in Qingdao, we enjoy convenient ocean shipping access to Karachi, Jakarta, Dubai and other main composite manufacturing hubs.
